What the heck are Blank Cheques?

 

Blank cheques (or checks if you prefer) are three-part, perforated forms with no bank or account information on them but that otherwise meet all the standards for bank cheques.

Adagio Payables and PayDirt Payroll print the complete cheque details, including all the bank information including the MICR line at the bottom. Some of the advantages of using blank cheques are:

  • One cheque form is used for all bank accounts at all banks. You never have to worry about running out of the cheque forms for an account requiring a cheque today.
  • You can add a new bank account at any time without waiting for cheques to be printed.
  • It is easy to run more than one sequence of numbers. You might use one for Payables cheques and another for those from payroll, for example.
  • Security is improved: you don't need to be concerned about keeping the blank forms locked away.
